The day was a bit overcast so I didn't have much sunlight to work with, but the scenery was just so nice it was hard to take a bad photo. I didn't realize how lucky the timing was to catch the tail end of the cherry tree's blooming season with the start of the wisteria's at the time! I loved how well the cherry tree was framed by the chestnut tree overhead/on the right and the hand railing below. Although the wisteria only makes up a small part of this image, most of the mass of wisteria in the other reference made its way into the scenery of the final illustration.
