unlike most ships of any type this has an open fighter bay and usualy only carries 2 fighters or bombers with 2 shuttels which is also rather strange. but due to the sheer power of this machine it is thrown into the heat of battle sometimes unexpectedly and deliberatly the centeral target but is not designed to perform this role flawlessly so must have its own repair system if such an event occurs while it is on patrol. although through all the changes it still has its leach barge which itself is also capable of repair work and battle
this is a turret baced missile ship. it has 4 mounted THOR guns which alone throw its damage over the line not to mention the 10 other defence guns and the godly 64 cearess citadel missiles brimming the front wings and the gut renchign addition of 4 moonraker missiles, dispite all this the ship is the same length and hight of a standard type4, 225 metres and 25 metres respectivly but is obviously wider, 70 metres, and requires more engines to maintain the type4's incredible pace while powering the massive set of guns. also due to its hybrid nature it dosent require the fuel of a larger type4 design so has a much more slim engine block considdering that it is equiped with quantum drive
a crew of 340 roam the halls that carry the largest computer system in use with the most advanced autopilot system in use. this ship posseses two greenhouses and a laboritory for both engineering and genetics which doubles as the infirmary... this is not a weekend cruise ship, this is something that only someone who is totaly overcompensating for something or someone who needs not compensate for anything would fly... only the canadians can fit that description and get away with it... the HMCSS Calgary if you didnt already know flies the canadian flag. you can all BOW to this vessles unparralleled power

All i have to say is...external missle ordinance is a fail... Unless you have godly sheilds those missles become a huge weak spot to target with rail guns and any directed energy weapon....
That and you put the bridge at the fron which to me makes no sense defensivly...but hey i do like the overall shape

that is the observation deck... the bridge is under the ship and out of sight
the missile racks are anti-armour ordinace... mass missiles mainly. the exlosive ones are kept closer to the hull and usualy used as first strike or last strike weapons... everythign in between is delt by the THOR guns and 105mm gauss rifles
and as with all ODN and FSSN ships its manuverability and agility are its gratest defence... lacking ANY energy sheilding all they rely on are hide and seak tacktics or sniper tactics

*nods* nice design.. just two comments on that by me.
1st: The midship-defense turrets have a highly limited field of fire in this position. You might want to consider relocating them to some higher positions near the engines - say above and behind those THOR-guns - thus also allowing them to fire upon anything sneaking up from behind.
2nd: You may want to think of some sort of encasement to that missile-batteries of yours. As impressive this open display of power might be, but it just takes some piece of drifting space-junk to render one or more of those missiles inoperable in the best - or setting them off in the wost case

And us Calgarians are all cowboys by nature, so compensation is everything we're about. Heheheh. Big hats, big belt buckles, and now big ships with big missiles. The kinda thing to show off at the Stampede grounds. Much more interesting than the rodeo....although...I've never attended the rodeo....I hide in the amusement park...

quite right... but sadly i havent gone into much detail on the honours and badges. it would ofcourse only have naval ships on its honours, its the first starship to carry the name
and this is also an older version.. there is a newer design that fixes a few problems
