So, this week's
Thursday_Prompt was 'shape', and I've got a few shapeshifter characters. It was a bit of a toss-up originally whether to set this in Mercedes' world or Jadestar and the League; I settled on the superhero League world partly because I'd been talking about 'how Jenora works' with a couple of other people lately so it was on my mind, and partly because I've already said that strictly speaking what happens in Mercedes' world isn't actually 'shapeshifting', it's just projecting an image, the physical body stays exactly the same.
So this was supposed to be a simple little scene about Jadestar teaching Valencia/Vanadium how to do shapeshifting...
Have you ever started what should have been a simple story that got completely and utterly derailed because the characters started to argue with each other in your head?
Yeah, that happened.
Edited to add: And I realized I hadn't put previous/next markers on these stories, and so I finally went and linked them all together.

This was a great take on semi-everyday life for superhumans (superanthros?) and I've always loved seeing that sort of thing. Yes, there's a sharp limit on just how much logic you can apply to super powers, but speculating your way to that limit is loads of fun.
...Especially with abilities that have tons of Power Perversion Potential.

I've mentioned before that at least some of my thinking on supertech and superpowers in general comes from The Academy of Superheroes, a long-running set of superhero stories that started back on Usenet, in part because Dave van Domelan very definitely did think about a lot of this and documented a good deal of it, in part because he was also running a shared universe for it and wanted rules for any other authors, because he'd been involved in a previous shared universe that he ended up walking away from due to miscommunications about how things worked. (Under the 'ASH Resources' section of that website there are files on things like 'Violation Effects' for how superpowers in general work in that universe, 'Supertech Taxonomy' which goes into various forms of mad science projects, and 'Superscientist Taxonomy' which discusses why someone like Reed Richards isn't really possible in his universe. (Short version: anybody who's an actual 'mad scientist' can bend the rules, and so advancing the actual frontiers of science is difficult because they're literally not operating by the same rules as other people.)
As for Power Perversion Potential, considering that the first story I wrote in this universe was literally a macro 'I'm going to use you like a toy because you look like you're actually enjoying it anyway', that sort of thing was inevitable. Valencia/Vanadium just has such nice obvious red shiny buttons. (Of course they're red, she's a fox, after all.)
(The ASH website also has a page on 'Sex in the ASH universe', which includes discussion of things like the relationship between the person who turned into living light and the person turned into living crystal... that page is pretty spoiler-heavy with regards to the rest of the stories, though.)

Yeah, Valencia/Vanadium, as I kind of implied in the previous stories, was pretty much an attention-seeker and turned on by displays of power... once she had an opportunity to get what she wanted even easier without villainy she took it. She probably still has occasional regrets, but it's not like Skunkworks is a perfect rule-abiding person either.
There's a reason I've got the prev/first/next markers on them. For something that started off as an idea for a lewd macro piece years ago, and then was mostly just a convenient background idea for short and often silly challenge prompt stories because a lot of the world was already in my head and superheroes can get up to all sorts of things... I'll admit it has been fun.
