SunderLovely had a birthday somewhat recently and me, my editor and girlfriend  UnsavoryRepute and artist BFF  GoldenGryphon came together to make him a little gift!

Its not very long, its VERY silly and the art Jade made for it is just a quick sketch, BUT we had allot of fun making it for our beloved cowboy! Happy birthday Sunder, I hope this year treats you right!

Birthday Cow

“Hey Charlie!” April called, the shark grinning as she raced across the lawn towards the cow, a large box held tightly in her hands. “A little birdy told me it's your birthday!”

Charlie froze, her blood running cold as she stared at the shark, a mix of horror and fury spreading across her face as she hissed, “Who told you that!?”

“Oh, just looked up your birthday in the company record.” April explained, “Since you started working part time at Gryphon Enterprises I just asked Michel to let me know when people's birthdays come up so I can make sure not to forget!” She thrust the box out towards Charlie. “Happy birthday!”

Charlie hesitated, then with a sigh tore the wrapping off the top of the box. “Of course…” She sighed.

“It’s a new milking machine!” The shark beamed. “Since you're still extra leaky after that mix up with Scott, I figured you could use a more powerful milker and this one comes HIGHLY recommended! Nine out of ten farmers agree, this one is SURE to make cows happy AND productive!”

“Thanks…” Charlie grimace. “I’m so glad farmers have such strong opinions about what will make me happy.”

“Well, who knows cows better than farmers, right?” April chuckled, opening the box and pulling the device out. “Now this thing has some pretty complicated instructions, but I’m pretty sure it should work the same as your old milker. I mean, I figure you have to be pretty familiar with how a milking machine works by now, right?”

Charlie took a deep breath then said in as calm a voice as she could manage, “April, I appreciate you wanting to do something for my birthday, but, and please don’t take this the wrong way, but this is terrible, I hate it and I want you to leave.”

April laughed and lightly punched the cow’s shoulder. “Aw you big kidder! Come on, let’s go inside and greet the rest of your guests!”

“Rest of my-” Charlie's face went pale. “APRIL WHAT DID YOU DO!?”

“I just told your pals that you had a birthday today!” April grinned, shoving Charlie through her front door before the cow could flee. “Come on, everyone’s waiting for you!”

As the two passed through the front door, a cheer went up from inside, “HAPPY BIRTHDAY CHARLIE!”

“How's the birthday burger feeling?” Hazel laughed, the hyena holding up a set of cow patterned lingerie. “Ready for your big day?”

“Don’t be mean, she’ll have plenty of time to try your gift on later.” Jade snickered, stretching out a large white shirt with the slogan, ‘Where's The Beef?’ emblazoned in large black letters across its chest. “Here Charlie, pull this on! I got it in XXXL so you won’t tear it open if you go without milking for too long and get all swollen and heavy! Plus it's easy to wash, milk stains won’t hurt it one bit!”

“I’m going to murder you, April.” Charlie hissed, her face turning red as her friends approached, humiliating garments in hand. “I am going to deep fry you and turn you into fish sticks!”

“Aw hey, if you don’t like these gifts, I’m sure the others will have stuff you like better.” April soothed, patting Charlie on the head.

“Others…?” Charlie asked, feeling her heart sink, “What… Others?”

“You know, your other friends?” April shrugged. “Rude said she had ‘the PERFECT’ thing for you, Sierra said she was gonna make this ‘a REAL birthday’, Kat was saying she remembered how worked up you got about that ‘rex situation’ and was going to ‘make you squirm again’... Oh man and there were SO many other people I can’t remember them all! It's gonna be fun! They were all so excited!”

Charlie stared at the shark’s big, dumb grin and mouthed the words, ‘Fish Fillet.’
