"There's nothing like sunning on the lawn outside the dorm," Sadie declared to no one. She was laying down on a blanket, on the grass lawn. "Nothing except actually going to the beach. But I guess nature didn't want me to do that today."
"There's swimsuit stuff we can do on campus that we can't do on the beach," Sable said.
Sadie considered that. "Erode dunes?"
"No. We could have a water balloon fight! Get Alyson involved. Maybe that bird that's always looking at us judgey. Oh, and that nerd who says you're friends."
"I'm not dignifying any of that," Sadie said. She lay back down on the blanket.
"It could be a lot of fun," Sable insisted. "Maybe it spirals into this whole big thing and the whole campus gets involved. Like in that college show."
"When I want to be wet, I get in the pool. Orrrr, provide your own sex joke here. Water balloons are kid stuff, Sables."
"Okay. But consider this."
Sable didn't continue so Sadie asked, "Consider what? Did the train of thought derai- oh."
She'd stood up to look at Sable. And her mouse friend was holding two filled water balloons.
Sadie held up a warding hand. "Do not-"
The first water balloon burst against her face in a SPLOOSH of water. Surprised, Sadie fell back onto her beach blanket and dripped.
She spat out some water that had gotten in her mouth and with as much dignity as she could muster, Sadie said, "You do realize, this means war."
"We could have been water friends, but I see we must be water foes," Sable said grimly. Then she hit Sadie with the second balloon.

Day 8 of the 30 day art challenge.
Water. I'd already done the ocean and ocean danger so when I saw the prompt water, I thought balloon fight.
And when I thought of Sable nailing Sadie in the face with a water balloon, I knew it was the right choice not to use her for Heart break.
Fun fact: I was so pleased with how well I'd drawn Sable's torso, given my eight whole days of art practice, I considered just having her running around in the nude, pelting her friends with water balloons rather than draw a bikini on top of it.
But today is not the day I expand my repertoire from barely coherent sketches to sexy barely coherent sketches.
Hands are still a difficulty. But I'm pleased with Sable's left mouse foot. The right one I erased so much the paper tore so that kind of halted further tweaking. And I remembered all the tails. Good job, me.
