ive been a bit unhappy with the design of my lunar humans, and recently i changed up their lore too, so... redesign. base sketch of usual design on left, redesign in the middle, old ref screencap at the top right aaaaand redesigns lines on the bottom right just to show how the pupil situation is playing out.

because of lore changes meaning theyre no longer from Luna, ive renamed these catpeople from lunarians to "manticores" because manticores are people-faced felines and also a lot of space stuff is named after mythology anyways so why not have the people genetically modified to live in zero-g be named after mythology as well?

i decided i wanted them to be just a liiiitle more nonhuman looking. but very vaguely off. both a catboy and a cat furry would be too conventional for this, i wanted a more uncanny blend. i was very stumped on where to even start with this, but honestly just sizing up the ears and putting them a bit higher up along with sizing up the irises really did the trick.

gonna move this to my scraps later once i post an updated reference sheet for either damian or for the manticores in general. oh right yeah i should note this is specifically my character damian and thus other manticores will look different in one way or another but this is the general idea
