In addition to markers, I've been tinkering in paint as of late too. I seem to favor oil paint because of how slowly it dries, makes the blending a lot more forgiving to my sporadic habits. It really is nice to be able to hang up something in the house. Just isn't the same to print out a digital piece to me.

I don't know what it is, but it came out beautifully.
A real image, painting, sculpture, whatever, is more psychologically rewarding than a print of nearly anything. You can make a hundred prints, and the value gets even lower. A real, tangible painting, where you can see the strokes, shows some life was put into producing it.
