Buck Brothers: September 11th Tribute (9/11/23)
On this day in 2001, our nation was struck by chaos when hijacked planes crashed in New York City in the World Trade Center, the Pentagon, and in Pennsylvania. This despicable crime was made by the Al-Qaeda group under the minds of the terrorist Osama bin Laden.
This led to a bunch of casualties, and there was so much smoke, dust, and ash that there was no relief. nypd and the Fire Department tell people to leave the perimeters of the Twin Towers with the smoke while recovering survivors and eyewitnesses of the event. Some were lucky while others weren't.
Through the ash and smoke, there was one thing that showed a beacon of hope. There stood the flag, completely nondescript in shreds. The pole itself was at an angle, but the flag still stood at the top. The New York Fire Department firefighters had seen that flag survive the attack, and they knew what it meant for when the flag made contact with the ground, so they held it, humanly until the flag could no longer hold its strength, then taken to the museum, including the salvaged parts of the buildings. You know the firefighters that held the flagpole in place were Patriots' bodies.
I'll ask you this: Wouldn't it be great if there weren't people who hijacked planes and made it into a weapon upon and nothing horrific happened? Well, we wished.
I also recreated the 9/11 Freedom Flag for this year to promote this over from freedomflagfoundation. In addition, did you know that after the attacks, this led to a major uproar with flag stores mass-producing more American flags and patrioic material than they usually would? I will never forget this day, and I will always make sure Old Glory, state, city flags, and Captain's Colors never fly with enemies of any type. NEVER FORGET 9/11.

I feel a special burden, being in the first grade at the time, I'm one of the last years of people who could remember details clearly as they were happenning.
It was really close to home for me. My uncle was in the air force at the pentagon in the section where the plane hit just ten minutes before impact. Not just that, but if Flight 93 went down minutes prior, it could have hit where I live. We were and are truly blessed, but unfortunately, thousands of others were tragically taken from us.
It was a special time seeing so many of us united together, remembering not only who we were as Americans, but also recognizing evil for what it was. A stark contrast to today with so much hatred for this beautiful country and people crying wolf at shadows, which is why it weighs even heavier on me, to make sure that for the tragedy that it was shall not be forgotten.
Never forget!
