There is a lot of backstory and lore inside this artwork and it's an artpiece that depicts a specific scene so let me try and give some quick context about it.
Kiearra (also known as Predatoria due to some previous deeds she sees as quite valiant), while exploring this area, came across a rather interesting, old villa. After poking her head inside, she was confronted with the reality that this villa, despite its looks, was actually inhabited by an older, rather scholarly looking man and his adventurous nephew.
The older human's name is Friar Glynnford, and he is a rather devout friar and skillful healer. Unfortunately, the teachings of his religion have instructed him that dragons are evil, that it's a religious order to slay them, and even that dying while attempting to kill one sends you to a good afterlife. He has spent a significant fraction of his earlier years tending to the wounds of those who fought and killed many dragons here in this place, driving out many of the local dragon flights including a flight of ice dragons that went by the name, The Sciathdraig.
The younger human's name is Wulfstan, and he was not yet alive during the time when many dragons died in these lands. He's only heard of dragons in books and by word of mouth and has never seen one before. Though religion teaches that dragons are evil, he's not as dead-set in that belief and finds them to be fascinating and wonderful. He has taken it upon himself to write a book about the dragons he's now met here, including writing about Kiearra. Of course, she really wants to read that book now. It'd be the first time she's been written about in a positive light, which excites her.
Despite his initial beliefs, Friar Glynnford was confronted with the stark reality that this particularly evil dragon, one he'd read about as the Predatoria herself - the horrifying, man-eating black dragon that killed so many 200 or so years ago, was very much not actually attacking him, trying to eat him, or destroying his villa. How very strange. After a surprisingly peaceful conversation that even came with an explanation as to why Kiearra felt her namesake was justified, the topic of druidic runestones came up.
Flewian, the shy green dragon in the background, knew where one was and Kiearra was more than eager to go find it and bring it back to them. It was a bit heavy but she doesn't seem to mind it. She doesn't know how to read it, but the older human, Glynnford, certainly has some texts on the topic to sift through. In this picture, she has just returned with Flewian and is now eagerly presenting her find to the inhabitants of this place.
The runestone does contain a hidden meaning. I wonder what it may say.
This scene is also inspired by a scene from the Eragon movie where Saphira is standing on the top of a ridge with her wings up like this. I really liked the majestic pose, so I drew a similar scene here.

Flewian is a character that was created by Skadovaengr. The reference sheet for the character can be found here:

There's a lot more to the story of this artwork than that, but hopefully it works as a good summary.

Thank you! I found some scale brushes I like. They're a bit tricky to get to look nice, and I've used this this one before, but this time around I think I managed to get them to look a lot nicer with the brush.
I wanted to make her have this almost radiative, draconic beauty in this picture.
I'm glad you like the lore too. I really want to do more lore-based pictures like this.

Many say that time heals the scars but sometimes these scars just become white and less noticeable and pain still lingers
But it is nice to see that somebody can surpass their superstition against these noble and rather imperssive beings and even got something new from the experience of talking with them
No matter the shape or origin both can benefit if they will find the same language, cause and idea
I love beautiful pieces and with a plot in them. It is like a good dish with fine sauce in it - tasty but with extra flavour
And especially it is awesome when the beasts look beautiful and lovely just as these two

It's definitely very nice indeed. He was definitely very skeptical and, honestly, downright terrified at first. This is, I believe, the third time the older friar and Kiearra have interacted, though it's Flewian's first time interacting with them and she's pretty shy about it. At this point, he's becoming more in awe of the dragons, though his beliefs and teachings are still in very stark contrast to the reality of the situation here and he's struggling with it a bit still. It's not easy to question one's beliefs.
Kiearra loves books and archeology, and these humans are the sort who write them, so she's naturally very much drawn to them.
A couple hundred years prior, she earned the name "Predatoria," which is latin for 'Predator of All,' defending many, many dragon families from a rather gruesome practice the humans were doing to dragonkind. They were killing the big adults, taking the children or smaller adults, and using them for bloodsports such as colosseum-typed games. She was ruthless in defending her kind against this to the point where the humans saw her as a demon or devil of sorts. For her, too, a rather friendly interaction with a kind she's seen be so cruel to her own is also a step forwards.
I'm really glad you liked the lore here! It makes me happy when people are interested in the story parts.

I'm really glad to hear my work presents itself as a nice surprise and that certainly makes me happy to hear and feel inspired to make more dragon art!
Yep! It's the one where Saphira is standing atop a hill with her wings out and open. I was awestruck by the beauty of the scene and how beautiful Saphira looked there when I watched the movie and really wanted to draw my character in a similar pose.

I'm so glad you enjoyed reading the lore and talking to me about my backstory and character history yesterday. It makes me happy when people show interest in those aspects of artworks like these. I'd definitely like to make more lore-centric pieces that show scenes like this. It was overwhelming sounding at first to start a piece like this with such a complex scene and with so many characters in it, but once I got started it really came together well. I'm glad it came out well and am very happy to hear you feel it's my best work, as I too feel it's a step up from my previous works.
I'm glad you like my character edits such as the frills and color changes too, as I feel this is my best rendition of my primary dragon character / sona, Kiearra, in color palette, patterns, and anatomical design.
Thanks for the fun chat yesterday and I'm glad you enjoy my artwork!
