One final spotlight from me before I take my hiatus. It was fun doing this for you all. There have been a lot of songs I’ve listened to, showcased, and I look forward to a well earned rest while I get my own projects sorted out and narrowed down. There’s some amazing tracks I can listen to on repeat, and now you guys can have a listen to the songs that stuck out to me!
Thanks to all who submitted a song! Every single one had something special about them, and I love to listen to all of your works. I’ll be listening to your songs as the spotlight journals come up, and I will keep in touch with you all as I try to improve my social-presence in the furry fandom itself. Till I return, I’ll be sparking off.

I may be committing 'FA musician suicide' here, but I'm already on life support anyway, so here goes...
A very good decision to play a clip of the featured track in the Spotlight this time around-- I don't quite understand why it hasn't been done that way in the past. One of my songs was chosen as the featured track in the last Spotlight, and although I felt honored, I also couldn't help but be disappointed that no clip was used (nor was my name, or the name of the song, mentioned in the actual audio file). If people didn't scroll all the way down to read everything, they'd miss it completely-- and I think that's what happened, because being featured resulted in absolutely no significant boost in views for my song. Believe me, I do appreciate that my song was chosen... I'm just not sure what the point of being featured is, if it excludes you from the Spotlight audio file. Please continue to include a sample of the featured song in future Spotlights.
Congratulations to all the talented artists who made it this time around.

You're not wrong about that. But I also noticed that every other song in that particular Spotlight-- without exception-- had more views and/or faves than mine did. There are probably other reasons for that, too-- the heavy subject matter of the song, the fact that FA music-listeners favor EDM and video-game style music over conventional pop songs with verses and choruses, etc. But I certainly don't think being left out of the audio run-down helps. I mean, 'America's Top 40' doesn't play songs #40 through #2 and then say, "If you want to hear the final song, check our social media" lol (which, by the way, I never did find any FA social media page that linked to the song).
I know my post must just sound like 'sour grapes', but I do think it's a good idea for a section of the featured song to be heard in the Spotlight-- just like all the others ones are-- and I'm using my own recent experience to illustrate why. It probably won't even benefit me personally (as I scarcely expect to be featured again); it'll be other people who might get a boost from it.

I'm certain you will be featured again when the break in programming is over. I do see where you are coming from though, always nice to hear a piece in the spotlight, regardless of whether it is the "monday feature" or not, if it has been selected for the show. I also totally get the lack of interest as well. As "good" as a piece of music might be, there is a definite bias in the fandom towards certain genres of music (by being part of the "new Romantic" school I also have pretty much guaranteed what I write falls on deaf ears), but it's not really about the views or attention, sure it's great to feel acknowledged for hard work, but if you aren't enjoying music for the sake of it, what would be the point in creating anything?
Oh, I certainly hope to make the Spotlight again, I just meant I didn't expect to be the featured artist again (hell, I didn't expect it the first time lol). And I definitely enjoy making music for the sake of it-- from 1988 to 2006 (the year I started uploading to FA), there was literally no audience for the music I made, except for the handful of close friends I'd play stuff for. So I've always done it for me, and still do... it's just that now, there's at least the possibility of getting it out there to other people, and obviously, when something you do connects with someone else and you know it, it's rewarding.
Thanks for that lovely and funny feedback on mine. ^v^
I really love the original Papaya one when i first heard it back in 2007 or 08 since it was a popular dance trend that time. And I tried to find it again last year. The shirt remix is actually a practice just before I started to make my track "Expedition" which I released last year as well. I still need to learn improving to mix properly on the instruments and synths I use.
So glad you enjoyed it ^^
