This was going to be Yuri's and Darkrai's first date. After Darkrai found and saved Yuri on his first mission, the two had grown closer to each other. Almost as though it was love at first sight. Both of them had feelings for each other since the night they met, but neither knew how to tell the other. Several days later, a miracle happened, As a promotion for his mission and returning home, Yuri's Military group held a ball. Yuri sees this opportunity to finally tell her how he feels about her. He had the whole night planned out. From the time he asked, to the night of the ball.
Yuri waited outside of her place of work. A little coffee shop that is a hot spot for great coffee and company. His eyes light up as the lovely snow leopard walks out of the shop from a long shift, his thoughts racing in his head with his heart racing within his chest. Their eyes meet as she turns around. "Oh, hey there Yuri, what's up?" Seeing his hands behind his back Darkrai would softly chuckle at him. "Okay, whatcha got there Yuri?" Without saying a word, he'd smiled at her, pulling out a boutique of roses, and instantly Darkrai's eyes lit up like the sun. Yuri couldn't help but keep staring with a soft light blush, he loved seeing her smile and the way her eyes would light up like stars. "O-oh my, thank you so much! They're beautiful," Darkrai said as she took the roses in hand.
Gathering his composer and with a smile on his face "So um, the unit I work with is holding a dance tonight...and I'd like you to come with me as my date...would you like to come with me?" He'd ask her. Darkrai could feel her face start to warm up as she started to blush, She'd then shyly looked down at the ground and nodded, looking back up at him still smiling. He'd hug her happily with joy in his voice, "Great! I'll pick you up around 8 then". Darkrai was so happy, that she almost didn't realize she was still holding him for a bit and shyly pulled away from him with a soft chuckle.
Yuri ran back to his car and looked over at her as he for in, seeing her take flight back to her place. Racing back home and getting cleaned up for the dance. He'd put on his old Marine dress blues. Putting on each ribbon, medal, and the golden pins of the USMC. He'd even get his NCO sword. All ready for the dance he'd grab one last thing, a single blue rose just for her. Quickly leaving and heading right for her place, he'd walk up and knock on her door. Taking a few deep breaths to calm himself as the door opens his eyes lit up at the sight of her.
Darkari was standing there in her favorite dress all dolled up and looking like a princess from a movie heading to the ball. Yuri standing there breathless at the sight of her, musters up his voice. "You look absolutely beautiful" Darkari also had her breath taken by the sight of Yuri in his dress uniform. Both of their eyes meet and Yuri makes his move. Taking her hand in his and kissing it. Her face instantly got red and thanked him, also telling him he looked very nice.
At the dance, he'd court her and let her hold his arm like a proper gentle-wolf. Darkrai got to meet new people, some of whom Yuri had worked with and yet still didn't know the field he actually specialized in. 'If only she'd known... I don't know if she'd ever look at me the same if she knew what I do..." Yuri thought to himself despairingly. He took Darkrai by the hand, looking her in the eyes, and asked her to dance with him. Instantly she accepted and they took the floor. An effort to escape the dark thoughts in his mind.
Through the rest of the night, the two danced the night away, eyes locked on each other. Not even realizing time going by or how people would watch them or join the dance floor. For both of them, it had been the best night of their lives, hoping for more nights similar to come.This is an amazing commission I got for my sister 
and me. Telling the next part of Darkari's and Yuri's story together.
