The house, it turns out, belongs to Scylla — her place in the islands off Elseways isn't her only home. Em recognizes her straight away as the goddess he derives much of his power from, but Zanthus has no idea who she is or what's going on. There's a reason she wanted the two of them to come, and it has to do with Zanthus' suitability as a test subject. She'd like to see what Em's transformation powers can do to someone who's already a bit augmented and who seems fit enough to carry it further.
