This is a silver ring that I cast out of sterling silver. It's the second piece I ever made, and I wear it every day. I left it rough mostly on purpose, to hide most of the scratches and dings that I knew it would get while I wore it at work.
I picked a skull for three reasons: First, it was artistically simple and fairly easy to do for someone without much experience sculpting. Second, it would give me an idea of what kinds of depth I could get with the casting equipment I've got. Lastly, I knew that even if it turned out kind of deformed or really rough looking, that it would still be a skull, and it would still look cool.
