Right now the rest of the family, besides his dad, doesn't know he actually exists, but there's reasons for that.
The gem he wears allows him to not have to deal with the scuba gear to allow him to breathe under water, a magic item gift for something he's done. In which he spends a ton more time under water than his dad can, so he takes care of more of the wet work and reporting to his dad.
He's 5'9", almost 19, and next in line for the Underwater Studies branch of the Ricin Family and their research.
Also he has a bit of a 'surfer dude' vibe I really like here
