He's trying to look casual, but inside he's terrified of a gust of wind helping him find out whether or not cats do actually land on their feet.

Whoo boy did this one test me! So many lines for the buildings, so many layers for the shadows and reflections, and so many nights that turned into late nights because "Well, I can't stop drawing this part now, otherwise I'll have no idea what I was doing when I wake up." Despite that - or perhaps because of it - I'm actually pretty pleased with how it ended up. Sure, I don't want to draw that many buildings again for the rest of the year, and I've sworn off drawing lattice masts for a while, but between the colours and the shading (and the fun I had with the Lime Cola advert), I think it's a success on my part. It was definitely a challenge, but given some feedback I've had already, I think it's worth it.
Fun fact: I used myself as a reference for the cat guy! I hate searching for the exact kind of images I want, so for this one, I set up a lap, put on a hoodie, and grabbed hold of a broom to stand in place of the mast. Because I was just using my phone with a selfie timer, it took quite a while before I actually got the pose down to what I want, but just like all the fiddly bits with the rest of the piece, the trouble was worth it; I'm really pleased with the shading on the guy! Lighting is one of my weaker points, so I'm glad it looks alright this time.
Fun fact that used to be more fun but is now kind of depressing: I also have a Twitter, where I post WIPs and sketches. It sucks what that idiot billionaire has done/is doing to the site, but I'll be on there until it either completely breaks, or until an actually good alternative comes along.
I also have a Tumblr page! Though, admittedly, I don't really know what I'm doing on there, and I kind of don't like it. Still, if Tumblr is your thing, feel free to check me out there!
