Prompt: inappropriate
“Son?” The young otter looked up from his seated position on his bed to see his father framed in the doorway. “Got a minute?”
Ed paused the game he was playing. “What’s up, Dad?”
The older otter smiled. “Well, you’re sixteen now, and I think it’s time you and I had a talk.”
“Oh. Okay, Dad.”
“Good lad,” and his father closed the door.
Ed’s mother looked up from the recipe she was studying as her son dashed past her, sobbing. “Ed?” He didn’t hear her as he jerked the back door open and ran out of the house.
She turned as her husband came down the stairs, looking distressed. “What the hell, Dan?” she demanded. “What’s gotten into Ed?”
“I gave him ‘the talk.’”
“’The talk?’ Dan, you know perfectly well he’s too young to learn about politics yet!”
