This is the highest mountain in the Fichtelgebirge, called "Moun Snowberg in English (Schneeberg auf deutsch). The tower was used in the cold war to listen the communication in the former Sowjet states. Now it´s used for mobile phones.

Interesting. Would love to see the hardware that is/was in it. You do not see towers like that any more except in rare cases when they want them to blend in with the surroundings. All just cold metal structures

I was inside one day, but everythin was empty. All hardware was out.

I know what cell communication equipment looks like. Its the cold war stuff and the WWII equipment they came up with for spying that intrigues me. If I did not need to spell it I would remember the name but I would love to go to the place in England where they were wiretapping the Nazis Something park that still has a lot of the original gear in it as a museum.

I think it was called Battery Park or something like this.^^

Ah, thanks^^. Well the equipement inside was better then this, I think. But the guys at Bletchley park were good too. Enigma was really difficult to break in at first.

And the thing is the Enigma was mostly mechanical. I would have loved to of seen what was in that tower for the cold war. I suspect it was designed to look like a water tower and I am betting the wider part was a radar array

It was not designed as an water tower, no. The platform was used for mainentance work at the upper part, in which were the antennas.
