It's the decapitated head of an alien-infested corpse that has sprouted it's own legs to skitter away after tearing itself free of the rest of its burning body, which is still on an operating table where people are flamethrowering things, people righteously indignant that the body has chomped off someone's hands during a tense CPR scene by turning it's chest into a huge toothy maw during a heart-resuscitating exercise. :)
