aww this is really cute, the wings add a really magical touch

so you know about the Kirin =) and you even remembered the scales =) you are definetly one of a kind, not many people know about true kirins, they just think they are horned horses xP

I didn't make the sculpture. Melody Pena did of Windstone Editions. This is a Paint-Your-Own sculpture.

However, I have always known the difference between a kirin and a unicorn. I also feel that Melody really captures the idea of this creature very well in her works.

ohh excellent job on htis one. only thing that bugs me is the glod ont he belly scales and such. to me feels liek it should blend out to the white. XD sooo pretty htough.

Thanks. Originally I hadn't planned on the gold on the belly, but after I had the other details in, the belly just looked blah...needed something, so in went the gold. I think on the next one that I will antique it instead of actually painting in bands, but the gold I used for this can't be used as an antiquing agent, it is too thick and dries almost instantly and is very hard to get off of anything once it is on there.

Next kirin I plan is going to be a vampire kirin, I didn't notice originally, but this kirin has little fangs, and someone mentioned bat wings and a lightbulb flashed...vamp kirin! LOL!

It'll be in blacks and silvers, should be pretty neat.

And have you tried a extender with it? i usually can draw out my gold paint if i put a extender gel in it.

This gold paint is Liquid Leaf, and is oil based, I don't think there is much I can do with it. I like it because it is so bright and opaque. But it isn't a good choice for antiquing.
