I wanted to draw something for sex worker pride day, so have this little illustration of Ryan.
When I first created Ryan, he was just a depressed dude who lives a tragic life as a poor defenseless sex worker, who gets saved by a hot muscular man with who he lives a happy healthy life as an artist…
But I recently started to look more into what the world of sex work actually was, and I discovered that being a sex worker was not actually the horrible and shameful thing I thought it to be, nor it was all hot and glamour like some romcom want you to believe. Sex work is just like any regular job. And as I started realizing that, Ryan started to change to someone who is, I hope, a bit more accurate representation of what sex workers can be like.
Anyway all of this to say that I’m an evil woke now.
