Don't let the name fool you. This xenospecies does not have an obscure fetish for facial wear. The tag on them is derived from their thinner, flatter plumage on their face. (their mouths are similar to that of a common barn owl, albeit no beak)
Their bodies are covered with approx 3-5 inch long, very thin, white plumage that resembles hair. This makes their bodies appear much larger than they actually are. Around their head lies a crest of very lengthy, sometimes reaching a foot long in older Mycha, black feathers which resemble regular, primary plumes found on birds.
In their flexible neck they have six more vertebrae than the human neck, they stand about 5'9-6'7 in adulthood, yet their "slouching" appearance (due to the excessive amount of cartilage in their spinal column) makes them appear a few inches shorter. Their tail is forked and the tips of the tail are covered in very sensitive nerve endings. Friendly Mycha will not hesitate to sometimes touch or feel you with their tailtips, showing joy with the being they are with.
This, more or less, peaceful xenospecies was found near a moon on Ilkior III, one of the planets of the Thubinian star system. Upon discovery, they were shipped into servitude by their discoverers as a form of cheap labor. Mychas are relatively intelligent of that of a mature human, but their society was based around tribal gatherers who eagerly worshiped the land in hopes of plentiful ecosystem. These mostly herbivorous omnivores cared not to be kept as slaves and caused multiple riots. Using fearsome guerrilla tactics, they were able to free captive Mycha and steal tech from their antagonists to use against them. Unfortunately, they could only keep up the assault for so long and their captors turned towards mass killing of their species as a means of control. As a last attempt of freedom, the Mycha hijacked and stole one of their captor's cruisers and loaded the last of their species (the servitors) in and randomly jumped into space to avoid death.
Their vessel crash-landed on earth some 500 years ago. During that time period, the Mycha lived alongside humanity and taught them to cherish the planet and nature. All was good, for a while.
(My only regret is that I have studying to do so I rushed, horribly with the skoodles).
I'll most likely make a reference pamphlet which includes a timeline to this species, which I'll probably be RP'ing one of them as soon as I can get a half-decent picture xC.
