History

Suen Qing was left on the door steps of an state run orphanage in China most likely abandoned because she was a female. Left in a state run system that was often over burdened by the number of children in its care Qing grew up mostly neglected and hungry. One of the few bright spots in her early life was a teacher who recognized her aptitude for the sciences, and encouraged her studies becoming a grandfatherly figure to the young student. Qing later was able to attend a university after winning a state sponsored scholarship. She specialized in genetic research and became a noted research scientist, and was later employed in a military research lab. While at the lab Qing fell in love with another research scientist and the two planned to wed. Travesty struck when while working to extract DNA from a mammoth tusk the work station of a nearby lab partner exploded, spraying Suen with shards of the mammoth tusk and strange chemicals.
She awoke with a new body, now super strong and nearly invulnerable. Qing was then whisked away to an army training center not even being able to say goodbye to her finance. Subjected to intense training and put into almost complete isolation Qing was told that her beloved had been told she was dead and had married the camp’s commander’s daughter. The camp commander then further tormented the mammoth by telling her that the lab explosion had been planned, by his daughter, to get her out of the way and make a new super. Qing, enraged, attempted to attack her tormentor only to be beaten down by the camps guards and hauled off to be re-educated/ tortured. During her re-education the stress activated a new power within Qing’s body, the ability to create blasts of intense cold. Using the advantage of surprise and her new power Qing quickly escaped from the camp and made her way to the United States.
Taking political refuge because of her religious beliefs Suen Qing became a naturalized citizen, but she has kept her powers a secret neglecting to register as a super. She has lived in fear of the Chinese government coming after her but has largely stayed out in the open refusing to hide anymore. She is now residing in Colmaton and is working as a professor of genetics at Union University. She has kept her powers a strict secret until recently but feels that she might now have a choice about weather to do so since the truce between the BOS and non registered supers came about.

Powers:

Suen Qing can morph from her normal form of an Asian elephant into her super form of a wooly mammoth. As Hansen Qing has super strength and limited invulnerability. Her fighting ability is on pare with an marine thanks to her forced training in the super camps.

Freezing Powers

Hansen can breath super cold vapors from her mouth and trunk. She can use the vapors to create solid ice objects or fire a freezing mist at an enemy.

Weakness

Is vulnerable to extreme heat.

Personality:

Qing can come across as cold and distant to people who don’t know her very well. She does warm up to people but it takes a long time for her to trust anyone. She also has a deep distrust for any government authority or official.

Various Facts:

Qing also teaches Chinese languages, history, and philosophical classes at Union University.

Qing is a deep believer in karma.

As Hansen she has deep hatred/distrust of Tigress Titian blaming her for much of the suffering that Chinese supers have to endure at the hands of the state.
