Max Garland is a famous TV show host in the Human-Anthro Coalition, amassing an enormous fanbase thanks to his fast-talking wit and charisma, helped of course by his very good looks. Max is well aware of the fact that he's an incredibly famous and successful man and has developed an ego that rivals his fanbase in size. He has never given much thought to the tiny humans he shares his world with - they're small and insignificant, out of sight and out of mind. But an odd encounter with councilman Yoshifumi Kuroiwa puts him on a crash course with the tiny remnants of humanity. These encounters lead to big changes in his attitude, particularly with one young human woman who catches his eye...which in turn leads Max down a path there might not be coming back from.
Another HRC-verse ref sheet! This one was done by the fantastic
Beepbeepster The original plan was to only have this kind of art for the main characters in the setting, but then I realized there are several characters who, while not main characters, still end up being prominent supporting characters with recurring roles. So why not to have some art for them too? Daz did an absolutely banger job with Max, I am in love with his hairdo!

Sadly :c, at least any butt is good enough for a human -w-
In this case, I'll ask: Firstly, I'm intrigued by how humans were able to have such a large population (There's like what, 20 billion humans?). Like, even if it started as 7-8 billions from before the shrinking, their lives are so hard that it's easier to imagine that the population either wouldn't change or would decrease. In the story that was in Bangkok, the human population was 21 times the anthro population, even though their life expectancy is low (Maybe 50 years?) and treated badly. How is that possible?
Human breeding farms also don't seems to make much sense when they live as much as anthros.

Well first, I imagine a very big chunk of that 20 billion is in HRCs, where things are obviously pretty cozy. And even outside the Coalition, there are areas where humans have an easier time with anthros than in Thailand for example (this'll be explored in some future stories).
But even in more hostile areas, we are still talking about humans, with all the brainpower that implies. We have a knack for thinking ahead and problem solving, so even in their smaller stature, human ingenuity can take colonies pretty far.
Basically, it's the indomitable human spirit that allows humans to make it even in more hostile areas.

Yeah there's that. Hope the countries with few or no humans rights are not the majority :c
Heck yeah, humans survive anywhere >:D (Except in Poland >.>)
Another thing I'm curious about, is the poor treatment of humans known to the general public(Worldwide I mean)? Because even though Thailand is a very bad place for humans, Sutham didn't know about it.

Makes sense, he did work in a very high building :p (joke). Yeah, the media did write about Sutham in a negative way for giving the humans a home(even calling them pests), so it must be a very common viewpoint in Thailand.
Btw thanks for answering my questions so far :3
And thinking about the internet, things must be pretty heated with all the stuff about humans (that is, if there are any global social media).
