Hey guess what, I have a Chain Chomp now. π
So here's Ferra, the first but undoubtedly not last Mario Universe inspired creature to be seen around these parts. Being from an alternate reality from the standard Mushroom Kingdom, she's far from a standard Chomp, sporting her own full humanoid body beyond the standard toothy cannonball. She is in fact fully unclothed here; the differing color patterns is just how she comes, besides the few painted on toes and pawpads that she likes to sometimes give herself to get more of a doggy flair.
Despite any semi-mechanical appearances, she's not really robotic, either. Instead, she's more of a "living metal" creature, basically magically animate solid steel all the way through. The exact nature of how and where her body is elastic and mobile is unknown, even to her, but she gets around well enough. Even if being solid metal means she weighs in at a hefty half ton/1000lbs, even with just her seemingly lithe build (heavy metal hips notwithstanding), so take care with any close interactions.
Though, even being from an alternate world version of the marioverse, she's not fully separated from her less able-bodied counterparts. She has a difficult time keeping herself from lunging happily at any nearby potential friends, though often with the intent of (intended to be) friendly hugs or greetings, not so much bites (usually). Such behavior also leads to her excitedly leaping into any situations she might think could be fun (which is nearly all of them) without really thinking first what consequences might come of it. She's ended up crushed, compacted or expanded in more than a few ways as a result, but she'll always come back around for more after a bit of reshaping and reforming.
Being magically animate living metal has other innate capabilities and disadvantages, as well. Innate modularity lets her disassemble when needed, or in case anyone needs an enthusiastic wrecking ball by simply grabbing her ponytail chain and giving her head a swing (if she's not already doing so herself). Strong magnetic forces are often a detriment, however, but it can also keep her at bay if one is not keen on getting pounced by a thousand pounds of excited metal sphere doggo. Other such functions and interactions are likely as well, should such things be explored in the future.
In any event, Ferra's just one more weird inhabitant of Mosaic City and it's surrounds (which is a whole other thing I need to get around to covering sometime if I can help it, but it's more or less where all my dorks live), and likely to cause no end of nonsense for herself and anyone too slow or unaware to get out of the way.
Whoops I did it again. Not only making a new character, but one that has actually been long overdue for a public appearance, this time in more ways than one. I've had thoughts of making my own Chain Chomp creature for a considerably long while, original inspirations tracing all the way back to the ancient days of imageboard drawthreads well over a decade gone by. And so now finally I did, though technically Ferra came to be all the way back in fuggin February of this year, admittedly. As to why she's only showing up now, there's a myriad of reasons, that I may cover at some future point, perhaps in one of those introspective journals I keep talking about making.
For now, there's a handful of other things I made way back then while riding the high of another shiny new character, that I'll try and get out in the coming days/weeks. Mostly I just wanted to finally get this reveal post out of the way so I can stop feeling like doing so has to be some grandiose event, which admittedly is one of those reasons for the long delay I just mentioned. So now I can just post or do whatever, whenever, no stresses of presentation surrounding.
(No fuggin idea what species classification she'd go under though, guess it's EXOTIC OTHER for now, lol)

Just don't end up underneath and things should be fine, heh. Though that may be difficult given how prone she is to lunging. But I can mostly guarantee she'll usually blow back up any she inadvertently turns into a sticker with her heavy metal body/butt, at least when she isn't in need of a nice blanket.
