SUBJECT: WY-XX420
ADMINISTRATIVE RIGHTS: K. B. Weyland
LOG SIGN: Valcyrie Battlemaiden, Chief Medical Officer, USM Luna
ENTRY: Reporting directly from LV-420. The situation here has quickly gone out of hand. The Marines were able to make ground contact with the colony. The base was in lockdown in every sense of the word. It would seem we have a runaway infestation of xenomorphs. We have not been able to send any teams out to confirm, but we suspect that the mining teams - 3 of them at that - were taken alive and brought to a Queen where they became infested. Xenodrones very similar to XX121 have been spotted moving around the colony, including inside the maintenance tunnels. We have therefore engaged Full Quarantine Protocol, hoping to contain the infestation while we evacuate. So far we've been able to securely extract 3 groups of colonists and they are now safely on board the Luna. The Marines are doing an excellent job, a competent CSAR crew it would seem.
But now for some more exciting news. A Marine squad was able to isolate one of the alien specimen, henceforth called XX420, in the medical room of the technical bay of LV-420. It trashed most of the interior before it calmed down enough that we could use remote access and scan the creature. Would you look at this image? It's equally horrifying to astonashing. We're running biodiagnostics data on it right now to try and figure out as much as we can before we leave this place. We're evacuating as many colonists as possible before we leave this place to it's grim fate but it's a very slow and tedious process. It hurts my soul that we are leaving people behind, but they are beyond saving and I have to tell myself that repeatedly.
I will update the administrator with further notices ASAP.
