[PHOTO] AVR #4002 Rounding the Bend in Pittsburgh, PA
I caught AVR 4002 pulling a unit train of empty sand hoppers back to the Glenwood Yard yesterday (9/21/23) at around 2:00pm. Here's 4002 as it is rounding the bend after the elevated track crosses the Allegheny River and much of the upper Strip District in Pittsburgh, PA. It is approaching the Herron Avenue bridge at 33rd Street.
4002 is a GP40 (Former KCS 4766) and is still in the Allegheny Valley Railroad livery even though it is now a Carload Express locomotive.
Enjoy
