Selene is the only daughter of Gaea, and the only one of the children born before RC 90, being born in RC 89. This is her appearance in RC 95, as an adolescent sergal.

Her biological mother, Theia, had died giving birth to her, and her biological father is actually Gaea, since Gaea was (and still is) biologically male before she came out as a trans female. As such, despite being her biological father, Gaea raises her as a single mother.
Although childless and not planning to have any children himself, Hermes has decided to act as Selene's father figure and moved in to live with Gaea soon after Selene was born.

She inherited vitiligo, which can be seen in her fur, present as patches of dark grey fur on an otherwise medium grey background. Unlike Gaea, she does not have heterochromia; both her eyes are the same teal colour.

She looked up to Helios soon after meeting him, and wishes to be like him when she grows up.
