Tortles are a race of intelligent anthromorphic turtles from their island to in the forest of England in my own fantasy adventures story called The Adventures of Tortles.

The Adventures of Tortles
In the medieval ages, a civilization of anthropomorphic turtles called the Tortles fled across the sea from their home island is destroyed by a volcano eruption to find another island for their new home. While other Tortles still find another island, nine Tortles on their boat travel to a world of humans called England and built their new underground home hiding in a small island on the lake in the medieval kingdom of York.
