ok, so, this one is for the modeling furs group...this is an F14 I worked on during desert storm, back in 1990, its the CAG plane, or carrier airgroup commanders plane, he demanded pretty black tails on all the CAG planes that cruise...model is Hasegawa 48th scale, painted from photos in my cruisebook.

While I can't say I'm a big fan of the rainbow-like thing on the tip of the tailfin, that is one sexy Tomcat. :)

Im doing one of each with the CAG colours. it all started with seeing VFA 113s plane, and then having to paint our EA6B with rainbows and blue cougars on black tail...

eagle is an F15, and while Ive been around them, they are not Navy planes. when I was in desert storm, our CAG consisted of: F14, F18, SH3, E2, EA6B, A6E, S3, SH60, SH2, and we borrowed the KC135 at times. the tomcat drivers kept tearing off the fuel probe doors on them, so we took the doors off.
