I have a big mesh sided carrier that they can stand up in, with a deep cup bed in it. One of mine, on a trip to the vet, sat up and looked out at the sea of fast, hostile Boston-area traffic around us, then did a "NOPE" by burrowing down into the cup bed and staying like that. It's understandable.
