Saw something almost as bad around 2000, they wanted me to come in cold and add/remove/and clean things up - all in an afternoon - and without disrupting their service!

I suggested at least a week to study it and then 'try' to get it done over a weekend.

They declined - too many billable hours and new cables/bits I'd suggested.

Don't know who they went with, but I do know a year later they were out of business ...
