It's the inner values that count ... well, I those even further in! Very cool idea - but I imagine fur not being very practical as a firefighter. Can they take all of that off as well?

what do you mean? fur is a very good insulator. but yes of course she can take it off, it needs to be replaced regularly.

Neat. I'd rather fully take the fur off and replace it for something fire-resistant instead of "wearing" another layer on top of it for protection. Fur burns easily after all!

uhm... you do realize that's not... biological fur, right? It's synthetic.

That thing is made of fire resistant fibers made exactly to trap air (the best insulators short of absolute void which is a tad harder to find on earth) and not catch fire.

Originally i based it off of the Trevira stuff, hence the whiteness. But obviously i can't go around yeeting brand names like that.

On the body itself which is going to stay slightly more away from the flames i chose a different fire-resistant thing which is made... basically of the same exact stuff but after it caught on fire (turns out fire resistant does not mean "fire immune" it just means it takes quite a lot to make it catch on fire) so it provides a different kind of protection, basically instead of insulating it prevents actual fire from getting through. this is because over there is going to be all the stuff that runs hot on her body and still needs to expel that heat. Once that stuff catches fire its basically useless as an insulator, but it becomes even harder to ... make it catch fire... welll... you can melt it, but it won't really catch fire anymore. Nor truly fuel it. Again, perfection does not exist, but it's as good an approximation as anything can get.

Did i mention that air is a very good insulator? Yes, well turns out you can be standing in a room that is technically several hundred degrees and not die. So, she needs the insulators on the limbs because they will be actually be the things that touch the fire either by walking or crawling through ebers or touching embers or hyper-hot stuff, kickign, kneeling elbowing, you know... al things that would be extremely dangerous for a human, but she's a robot she gets a backup before doing anything wild and she can be repaired.

But on the body itself she is "just" wearing fire protection because that's the bit that needs to expel the heat that her electronics builds up. Hence also the "freeze boobs" in front of her air intakes because that way the air gets chilled before going through her system. it's not perfect, obviously, but nothing is. I thought this would be a decent way to do this.

Oooh I expected it to be synthetic fur but thought it simply had the regular properties of natural fur. That's pretty cool!
