I was in the middle of working on a ref sheet for Felix, but ended up getting distracted and decided to make a ref for my new sona. I decided to play up the post-TF angle because it's fun.

I figured being smaller and foxier your voice might have changed as well? ;) Also you can't live indoors for the rest of your life, shapeshifting or not!
Pants could probably be adjusted to accommodate tails, though I recall one arctic-fox character who tended to wear loose robes as he would overheat easily otherwise. This is one area where being female would be an advantage ;)

I didn't even consider that. It'd make the zoom calls even more awkward.
I think the key in a situation like this is how do you go outside without becoming an unwilling test subject. That'd be my true fear.
I have no doubt that pants could be constructed. I mean if there was no fear of going out then everything could be handled eventually. Also, I think a lot of my pants jokes have subconsciously come from the old Jak games where part of Daxter's post TF arc is his desire for a pair of pants. https://youtu.be/1YCZ_1sec0s?si=Ijy4FankwtMlZUz2

Talking with a muzzle might be difficult also ;) I suspect the key would be to ensure you were quite well known, family, friends and others so you would have some protection, though really undergoing tests and examinations after something like this could be kind of fun, as long as it was ethical and above-board.
Ah I admit I've never played those games, thanks!

I'd be really worried about just being disappeared into some secret government lab. I guess the key would be disseminating enough proof online all at once that they couldn't just try and cover it up. Though I can already imagine the conversation with my parents.
Me: I'm a fox now.
Parents: What are you talking about? What drugs are you taking?
Me: No, I'm literally a fox now.
Shows video proof.
Parents: How are we going to have grandchildren now?
Grumpy fox face.

heh oh dear yes that would be a little awkward ;) And I guess I'm perhaps just a little optimistic or naïve about these things but I don't consider that a particularly likely outcome. Oh and this reminds me I had a dream about the X-Files, Fox Mulder and Scully last night, I haven't watched that show in years.
Yeah, I might be a bit too much on the opposite side of being a bit too pessimistic and paranoid about these things.
I've never actually seen X-Files, but in one of my tabletop game settings I did create an FBI division dedicated to magical creatures in modern day earth. Their job was mainly to cover up the existence of magic from the public, but they were generally pretty nice and mostly tried to herd all of the non-humans into special hidden enclaves for them out in the countryside and then having to deal with more problematic trouble makers who kept getting involved in the public.

Yeah, it was a portal fantasy setting so there were multiple world and most magical creatures came from the other ones. Really there was only a very small population of them on earth. Most of which actually were refugees from a massive war and those that actually can shapeshift into a human form are allowed to leave the enclaves and lead normal lives as long as they don't break the seal of secrecy. Each nation did have their own solution to hiding the magical creatures though. This was just the US's one. The UK, for example, actually has a hidden island archipelago (It uses a lot of magic to hide itself) kind of west of Scotland where the magical creatures actually self-govern themselves (as well as control any of the enclaves on the British isles themselves) though they still are very connected to the government itself. Other places, such as a lot of them on continental Europe, are even more independent
