Hmm. The Antrelys-- going off your political map of the Caliphate-- are one of the bigger factions/internal states, and Grès is kind of a satellite or puppet of them That seems to be a fairly large chunk of territory that uses the Yrhun.
And judging by the fact that about one and a half/two yrhun is equal to so many Dirham, I imagine that most commoners in Antrelys and Grès don't have much hard currency on them at any given time, if they aren't actively trapped in a Company Store-type situation. So I'm guessing that the comparative scarcity of yrhun vs dirham means that many commoners have to resort to barter to get by and surrender tithes of crops or goods to pay taxes, allowing the nobility to trap them in what is almost a form of debt slavery.
