I did this in the style of Crime Noir, only problem is ball point pens are not exactly good at coloring large areas on the kind of paper I used, so you can see the ripple effect it created.

I'm thinking of using this style for a graphic novel version of my stories instead of a full writen novel.

I'm currently making a better version using a vector based program called Anime Studio, it's meant for animations but it's usefull for this as well, at least untill I get a tablet. This style can basicly make any character, no matter where it's from, bad ass.
