Four Towering Ynaa Paws
The thing about ferals is that they have four paws instead of two, so paw lovers get a lot of paws with this Ynaa the Absol picture for

Wow! Where do I start? First, I love the sunset sky that you went with because it makes this picture look even more interesting and beautiful via adding the colour gradients.
Second, I like the inclusion of clouds both in the foreground and background to emphasise her size, and the fact that her impact on the ground is kicking up dust as well that seems to either be far behind the city, utterly dwarfing it or both.
Thirdly, she herself looks amazing. I can see everything from the shine on her claws to her individual fur strands to all the details on her paw pads. The distance blur on her helps sell her size and complete and utter divinity.
including those light up symbols was a nice touch as well as her smug expression communicating her personality without a word or prior knowledge required.
Finally, I appreciate that you used the "plane flying across a macro" idea, but subverted it by having it be at a completely different angle and while she's lying down as well. You are an amazing artist!

Aww, thanks! I especially like doing colorful skies for neutral colored character.
It's a lot of fun drawing macro characters at nearly every major plane of a picture from foregroud, midground, & background. >w>
Pawpads I have a special way of doing the rendering. The longer hair fur is all painted with a single bristle brush. Then the fine fur is also hand painted but with a custom "bristle brush" that has about 8 or so bristles. It's nice to see those details noticed because those alone take over an hour to do in picture like this!
I really appreciate all your thoughtful and kind words on pictures like these. @.@ Thank you so very, very much!

I understand, it makes them pop out more and I like it that way.
Makes sense because macro characters would probably find it harder to not fill up an entire piece and different distances of it. You're just catering to their own preferences, especially teasy ones like Ynaa.😉
that sounds quite meticulous and something I admire you for! Those details are truly amazing and I'm sure the characters as well as other artists appreciate it as well.
You're welcome. 🙂

Its very easy for a macro artist to fall into the trap of doing all the tiny details to make a picture complete. It's what I appreciate so much in the art style of Bob Ross which is impressionism: to use simple, minimal strokes to project an idea rather than paint every single detail manually. Since I charge by the hour on commissions, its even more important I get a lot done in the minimal amount of time.
A delicate balance!
