In a land plagued by a never-ending fog, a tepig finds a rowlet collapsed on the ground. The rowlet is very strange; they have amnesia, they barely express emotion, and they somehow LIKE the fog. And strangest of all, they're actually nice to the tepig.
Wanted to write a story that took place over a whole PMD game, but didn't want to write a whole PMD game, so I did this thing where I jump through time and just write key moments. I did the same kinda thing in my "Omegas' Crush" story. It's fun and convenient, though it makes big moments have less buildup and thus less impact. Still good tho, and I'm super satisfied with how the story turned out.
SPOILER: I wanted to write a PMD story where the hero ACTUALLY leaves the partner, and doesn't just come back after the credits roll. I had the idea of a winged hero disappearing and leaving their wings with their partner, and then I had the idea of them falling from the sky, having their goodbye moment while plummeting toward the ground, and the hero fusing with the partner to give them their wings and save them. I kinda worked backward from there.
I also wanted to write a story about fog, and I had the idea of a hero being a fog creature that's hard to see the emotions of, so the partner has to make an effort to look closer and get to know them. It worked nice as a plot to get the characters to care about each other, so that the goodbye is meaningful.
