Late in the evening, when all except the night guards were asleep, Gabriela the goblin (rabbit, wink) maid crept around Queen Jasiri's castle with a lantern.
If anyone had been around to observe, they would have been quite confused at the way the busty maid looked behind tapestries, under furniture, in cabinets and behind doors. They'd have been most confused by the way the maid stared into cracks and crevices that didn't seem big enough to conceal much of anything.
But there was a very simple motive at play.
Gabriela had lost track of the eldritch tentacle beast she cared for like a pet. Like a very slimy pet that liked squirming and tickling.
She'd brought it with her from the Netherworld when she was sent on a mission by Princess Razor Tongue and probably promptly forgotten about.
According to lore, the squirmy little guys were shed from the great Writhing when it was pushed into a really big pit. Gabriela wasn't really concerned with that. She just thought it was a fun thing to have around.
A bit of a troublemaker though. So often wandering off to cause mischief.
The last time Gabriela left it to its own devices, it had gone and bothered the queen, so Gabriela thought it best to find it.
Gabriela was worried that her search would go on long enough for the sun to rise and render her lantern moot but she was relieved to hear something squamous when she opened a cabinet in the queen's bath.
The tentacle beast shied away from the light of the lantern.
"Ridiculous tangle," Gabriela scolded the thing. "Causing me worry!"
She put the lantern down and patted her chest.
With whatever it had instead of a heart likely set on mischief, the eldritch tentacle beast nevertheless disappeared into Gabriela's cleavage.
A good place to keep it away from mischief.

Day 29 of the 30 day art challenge.
Hey! Only one left to go! Feeling pretty confident!
Lantern.
This was another one where Gabriela got the nod because someone needed to be drawn for this prompt.
Actually, I was originally going to use her for Woods. It would have been similar to Felicity's sketch, just Gabriela walking through the woods. Things got shuffled around so Felicity got it instead and Gabriela ended up with lantern.
And once she was assigned Lantern, I knew it would be about looking for her weird squirmy pet.
I should get a picture of Gabriela and her pet tentacles some day. She only has the thing because I got a request to have a tentacle tickle Jasiri a bit and I threw Gabriela into the story as a sneak-peek.
Anyway! I went through a couple possible poses for this. I have two separate practice Post-Its and decided to go with the second one.
At some point, I should share all my practice sketches. Its fun how different the finished sketch winds up being sometimes. And sometimes, the practice version looks better to me.
