I think it's time we implement the TRIBE DIPLOMACY METER.
it's quite simple really, 1 means capture and death 7 means acceptance with 4 being a middle ground.
now, with the similarities i would say the little girl is a younger sister, meaning the man she's talking to is her farther and Kyo's potential farther in law.
before he was interrupted he was sharpening what looks to be a hunting knife. this suggests he is either a low class hunter or one of there warriors, possibly but very doubtful that he's one of the elite but the mark on his arm might suggest something.
(side note - most tribes did have a class system, however hunting was dependant on what your hunting. tribes were rarely big enough where you could separate the hunters from the warriors so some classes would pull double duty. in the case of say a single dear that would be whoever found it, but in the case of say more dangerous creatures or multiple dear both the hunters and low to mid class warriors would band together for a better hunt. some elite did hunt, but only out of sport of preference. they weren't required too.)
he brought back someone they thought were dead to them. it's a 5 on the scale. only a small number of the tribe know he's there but it's a good start.

I'm merely using my knowledge of cultures to examine the details in your comics. the amount of detail you provide gives food for thought.
for example, that knife looks to be an animal claw, the practice of bending metal in blades especially small ones is a very advanced. two pages back we saw buildings in Rhys village, not tents. not trying to presume but from the looks of the brickwork that's a clay wall coating.
there are two known cultures that use a style of wooden supports with bricks made of mud, sand, straw and water coated with yellow died clay afterwards to hide how it looks, Egypt and Persia.
while both where advanced enough to make curved sword, only one of those made a curved knife. and that was the Persians. but these were reserved for the elite or ornamental pieces.
he's using a whet stone. and that's actually a whet stone, not some rock he picked up. suggesting geology is at work. someone had to find that, identify what it was, mould it into a usable state and take it to market.
lastly there's the symbol on his arm, that's a tattoo, not a brand. it's too detailed to be a brand. suggesting he sat for hours while they inked him. you don't but effort into someone your branding as a traitor or shaming. so if it means something. it's an honorific.
