Finally, warm and crisp weather. It had been raining all day, non-stop, until well into the late evening, and only now with the sun's departure did the sky heat back up ever so slightly. It'd be silly to head out for a jog after most of the sunset had passed, especially if all you're wearing is a sports bra, leggings, and plain shoes and socks, but Tara didn't really care about how odd it'd look, this was her both her routine and her hobby, so she was gonna get those steps in even if it was in the middle of the night. And so, she was already heading down the dimly lit paths of her neighbourhood, her shoe-clad feet clicking against the damp pavement, the digits inside starting to ache.

However, she soon ran into a minor interruption about midway through her usual route. Her feet pumped and throbbed inside her shoes and socks, but not just because of the jog no, something else. For the ache was spreading throughout her whole body now, twisting into her nerves, filling up her suddenly bunching sinew, her tailbone rife with otherworldly sensations, all while her darkening eyes widened to see the glow of the bright full moon peering out from the clouds.

R-RIP!

And then, Tara felt something rip through the back of her leggings, a small extending vertebrae nub snaking its way out of her lower back, as her socks squeezed her tightly, both feet visibly quivering.

Crrr-rrr-rrrree-ee-eE-E-EEEE-EEEEAAAAK

A glance down showed Tara how much her right shoe was ballooning out, the canvas loudly stretching and straining against the rapidly throbbing and swelling foot inside. It was pinching hard, shrinking so painfully tight that Tara had to lift it up to relieve at least a little pressure, all while orange, white, and black fur pushed itself through her stinging, itchy skin and raced down the bubbling, rippling ankles and into the footwear, further stuffing up her strangling shoes and socks as her feet pumped and pounded thicker, thicker, thicker.

Crack-rip-rip-riiiip.

All before the shoe started to split...
