Welcome to 2022!

As I say hours before January is over. I sadly did not have a very good start to the year, not finding the energy to draw, dealing with work, bouts of depression, and the feeling of insignificance... Yeah, I'm not doing too well, at least in the art department. However, despite not having something absolutely new to show, I did take the time to put together something for a friend of mine.

My buddy, @ccagamer, sometime earlier this month had begun thinking about what his Yoshi would appear as a Koopa. Last year, I had retrofitted my Yoshi's Koopa form to create a general base for Koopas. This was a project I had started and put aside for most of the year and was going to show regional variants of Yoshis, Koopas, and Rexes (I need to fix the base for Rexes first) in some of Ioa's countries, but since I had created a base, I was able to use it to create this for him!

As per his request, Rox retains the main accessories his Yoshi already wears: the fingerless gloves and the black neckerchief. Rox's red body transfers to his shell, and his new turtle body becomes classic yellow. Another version of this (and why I wish DeviantART had a feature to upload multiple images for a sort of set upload), at his request as well, was to play by the rule of a Koopa's boots matching their shell, so there's another version of this where Rox's boots are red.

Anyway, a little reckless of me to do, but this is only one of two pieces of art that I put together this month, neither of them is new, and the newest sketches I have are not colored. So I've fallen behind, but hopefully, I can shake off that negativity and regain myself this month. I have another sketch that needs finishing, so there's something to look forward to in the near future! Thanks for looking!
