For the first time, she did not fight back.
She let that un-place envelop her mind. She let it tilt her reality out of bounds. She welcomed that faint, stomach turning sensation with which her awareness capsized before crossing the event horizon.
There was no tea party this time. No orphanage, no backyard, no tree … no flames either. There was only one thing. A flow as much as a form, lightless in its unending brilliance, filling out that vast and borderless non-existence she held in her hand. She felt her soul bleed out of her, the anger, the hurt, the sadness seeping out into that inconsolable darkness she barely recognised as Rena anymore. Though she knew –or at least hoped– that it was some still-present speck of humanity that drank up her grief so readily, that understood her fury so clearly.
YOU KNOW I CANNOT TURN BACK TIME
There were no words, of course. Only some empyreal clarity –a fathomless void, a searing brilliance, a formless comprehension– carved into her mind to outline thoughts.
The thorns of remorse and guilt sunk deeper into her heart. She had loved and adored har father all her life. She still did… But, her sister –the sister she had killed– had been right. In this life their father –their stepfather– had made for her, she only was to love him. And no one else.
SO WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE ME DO
Perhaps if he had been kind, if he had been gentle, she would have yielded to his wish. Perhaps if he had hurt her instead of Kate—
‘End him.’
feels like it's been forever since I drew this two - or just R being a proper eldritch terror.
anyway! we're fixing both of those thing today!
