The first Fan Art poll was held and voted on by all Patrons to pick which popular media character to do. Renamon won and that picture will be posted on 2nd of October~ My very first time doing Renamon in color. >3>
September marked several big things that happened with me.
Being able to draw on screen matches my decade plus experience as a traditional artist. I have terrible hand-eye coordination in life so drawing on a traditional screen-less tablet was always a struggle.
I’ve also found that for some reason it is easier on my eyes than looking at a monitor, so I can work for longer periods without as much rest.
Finally, with it serving as a second monitor, this lets me multitask more easily such as chatting in stream chats or keeping a better watch on my stream feed.
I have a new way of handling highlights for my pictures that makes them naturally brighter without as much need for a contrast/brightness adjustment at the very end of the picture. That adjustement would usually make some fur details disappear.
A new way of handling fur textures was implemented to help them not make colors so muddy/dull when a heavy amount of fur is drawn. It is slightly slower to do, but the quality is much, much better and it gives me tons of control over color.
In the coming months I plan on learning even more important techniques to push my art further; most notable being utilizing the tool Lazy Nezumi to better do cityscapes and details. It is slow and clumsy to use right now, but with time, I think I can learn to do it faster.
Inking is another thing I want to better learn; this is particularly for coloring other artist sketches. The skills needed to do this well I believe will eventually help me to better able to freehand flat colors with minimal use of the slower Pen Tool.
It hurt like hell to pay but I did it in part because of having an emergency fund. It was one of the most sobering lessons in having an emergency fund on hand for crises like that. It’s going to take months of tons and tons of work and spending next to nothing to rebuild that fund… though…
There is still a lot that could go wrong with my building. Like just a week later I had another breakdown with a different HVAC unit costing $1,000 in repairs. And then a week later, after that, at home the sink stopped draining and we had to hire a plumber.
Take these examples I’ve had to deal with to build up an emergency fund yourself. Cut whatever spending you have to in order to build up cash and leave it somewhere you don’t touch. You’ll thank yourself next time you have a problem with your car or house.

New Graphics Tablet
I got my new graphic’s tablet and it makes a tremendous difference in my ability to do art for many reasons.Being able to draw on screen matches my decade plus experience as a traditional artist. New techniques
I deployed two new techniques to my style in preparation for my price increase in November; to better warrant earning that increase: New Highlights, New Fur TexturesI have a new way of handling highlights for my pictures that makes them naturally brighter without as much need for a contrast/brightness adjustment at the very end of the picture. That adjustement would usually make some fur details disappear.

New HVAC System
At my building, the HVAC system on my new tenant’s side broke down and had to be completely replaced. The unit was about 30 years old and well past its expected life. The total cost was $7,200.It hurt like hell to pay but I did it in part because of having an emergency fund. It was one of the most sobering lessons in having an emergency fund on hand for crises like that. It’s going to take months of tons and tons of work and spending next to nothing to rebuild that fund… though…
