So 
LiimLsan started up another 'TFtober' set of images this year, and when I saw the first one was 'nightmare', I had an idea...
So I went with Rose, whom I'd had drawn once before from a YCH/Adopt.
Most of the characters in the 'Summoned' folder here were creatures summoned up by the cougar summoner who ended up fighting (and losing to) Jenora, leaving Jenora in charge of a group of previously summoned creatures: a tigress genie, a hellhound guard, a unicorn alchemist, a kitsune 'office lady', and a rabbit succubus. Rose was the addition to the group that came later, after the group settled things out internally (and the cougar finally decided to stop sulking over the loss and started working with them).
Rose was created when some other summoner attempted a major summoning without complete preparation... and got something more cthulhoid than demonic. The creature ate both the sacrifice and the summoner, and then rampaged for a bit while everybody in the group worked together to bring it to heel, lock it in a new summoning circle, separate it from anything it could use to keep a toehold in our world, and banish it back to where it came from. Rose... was basically all that was left of the summoner and sacrifice and possibly others caught up in the rampage, and was pulled out because she was part of what was keeping the creature anchored in our dimension. That's part of why her fur pattern doesn't match any normal feline, she literally is a magical mixture of other felines.
Rose herself is blissfully unaware of the traumatic incident that created her. But I always figured there might be echoes in there somewhere, and that concept is what inspired this, the idea that completely innocent Rose was still occasionally visited in dreams by things completely beyond her understanding scrabbling at the doorway, denied entrance to our world by the fact that she simply doesn't know what they're asking for...
(And this was something that started as a harem comedy, where the heck did that bit of nightmare fuel come from, brain?)
