This and other instances of the theme looked (and still look) very nice. I wouldn't call it dorky to draw things instead of coding or something as hand drawn graphics have always been an integral part of the demoscene. And most people likely consider writing code or something to produce graphics weird and unnecessarily complex (=dorky?).
