Crossfolf Collage: The Elegant Badass Revisited
It seems that some of you liked this car, so... :)
I fell in love with this 1959 Ford Galaxie Sunliner at the local car show last weekend, and I wasn't the only one; this elegant bad boy was one of the stars of the show.
I revisited and admired this car several times before I was finally able to photograph it without a crowd of people around it.
WARNING: INCOMING CAR-NERD MUSINGS -- DO NOT READ!!!
I understand that we can't build or have cars like this anymore, but...
Does anyone besides me wish that today's cars could at least have interesting names again? "Galaxie Sunliner"...how cool a name is that?
Cars used to have such evocative names...
The elegant Lincoln Continental and the Chrysler Imperial.
The muscular, animalistic Cougar, the Mustang, the Impala and the Barracuda.
The exotic Caribbean and the Panama.
The lyrical, romantic Eldorado and the Coupe De Ville.
The Crown Victoria and the Studebaker Starlite.
I wish that modern cars could at least have such cool names again.
A Crossfolf Camera Presentation.

I looked it up. Manufacturers are no longer permitted to give cars such cool names because people would start enjoying driving again rather than regarding it as a chore. Otherwise they'd be out there polluting the air with leaded gasoline and who knows what other pollutive nastiness.
So, shame on you!
(* sigh *)

You're right, as always. The horror! Think of The Children etc etc (plus tax)
Cool automotive names went the way of cool automotive colours, I think. Modern cars all look like electric razors, and they're all black, white or grey...
At least this car wears its' black coat with some style.
