Ok so i couldnt sleep tonight so i wanted to draw. Really i cant tell you how fustrating it was. No matter what i tried i couldnt get any of my pictures right. It was driving me mad. I even tried using my tablet. Man i suck at drawing with a tablet. How the hell do they draw without turning the pad to draw at different angles. Bah. Well anyways, i was getting fed up with it. I wanted to draw a nice semi complicated picture with me, my pet, and glowy. But since i couldnt do that i decided id experiment and draw myself. More of a reference peice. I decided to keep it from being an adult image as its really nothing special enough to be yiffy.
Now, there is one little problem with this. I drew the arms a little to long for my own taste. My body is supposed to be a sorta 4 legged hybrid. Make it look like i could do both. The arms are supposed to be kind distorted but i think i went overboard, but i didnt want to change it because it was one of my better job with hands. so just imagine the legs are a bit bigger.
Oh and I decided to draw myself in my winged form. Dunno why really, just experimenting i guess.
I kinda had fun with the process for this one actually. The sketch was kinda fast and half assed, but i didnt really care. Aslo, im lacking an ink pen right now so i just used my pencil to make darker edges and add weight. Then i just edited it in Gimp to give it an inked look.
Coloring was interesing. First i just used a brush and made myself a solid green color. (I was using a layer behind the ink and the inking wasnt perfect so i couldnt use a fill tool.) Then i erased around the areas outside my char. Kinda imagine a kid with a coloring book who couldnt stay in the lines but had a freaking awesome erasor. I then experimented a bit with how i would do my black belly. Gimp doesnt work like photoshop so i couldnt get the blended edges like i really wanted. So i made them solid and used a smudge tool. This actually caused the belly color to have sorta a redish border to it. Kinda interesting, and i have no idea where it came from. I guess the blend of green and black did it. I did the markings on my back and legs in a similar fashion. However, i feel i didnt capture my markings the way i would have hoped i would. No matter.
I did shading a little different. Experimenting a bit, i did the usuall thing of making a layer thats already transparent. Then i made the brush a little transpartent as well. Then i just did normal sketch like strokes to do the shading. And then i did the highlights. I used less transparency on that layer so itd look more white. In the end it gives it a nice stroked coloring look. Makes it look more traditional, versus the cellshading style ive been using.

Hehe just takes practice. Well not really practice, it takes a tiny bit of confidence and the urge to draw lots of piccies.
I still dont think i draw very good, but back in the day god i was awfull. I still cant figure out why people praised me for them but if i hadnt of gotten praised i probly would have given up.
Well lets look at one of my old pics for fun....

The proportions seem perfectly reasonable to me- they don't actually look that far removed from standard biped proportions. That or I just have bad spatial perception, which is a valid accusation, but it looks fine to me- and, as others have stated, you look cute. I think you did a good job with your wings, I don't know why you don't usually draw them...
