i redrew the original marker drawing for use as a pet overlay at moderneo. i put all this detail into it for like 3 hours knowing i was going to shrink it to 150x150 and lose literally all of it, but i did it anyway because i was high, and when i'm high this type of meticulous detail work is more fun to me. reminds me of what it was like when i was a kid. used to draw in hyper detail all the time until i got brain damage (unironic) from Life Events, and now my body starts hurting long before i make much progress in such endeavors. along with that, i am plagued with doubt about whether the end result will look like shit and if that means the effort was wasted. the things that come with aging and whatnot, i guess. who knows what the future holds. more prominent usage of a wrist brace, is my guess.

hey, you know what i should do more often? whatever the fuck i want without worrying about if it's going to look like shit. i wouldn't have ever learned how to use markers effectively if i'd never gone through burnout and turned to coloring books in a last-ditch effort to save my love for making art. if only i could find something in digital art that i enjoy half as much as what i enjoy about analog art, so i could do it more often without it feeling like it's sucking my brain through a meat grinder.

also, yeah, rambling in description. i used to do that as a kid, too. why'd i stop?
