Picture taken 5/6/08 of our little boy, Dimitri. We helped him to depart this world on 3/7/11, after the vet told us that he had congenital heart failure & it would be more humane to just let him go. Near as we can figure, he would've been 11 years old on St. Patrick's Day this week. Sweet dreams, our little boy. We love you.

Yes, all 3 are buried pretty close to each other in my yard. (I call it the back yard, but he calls it the front. Either way, it's a yard.)
I try to wait until at least a few months have passed before taking them to the gravesite. It's bad enough they keep sleeping where Dimitri spent most of his time (under the couch) just to get his smell; I'd really rather not have them be trying to dig him up to find out why he smells the way he must now. I'll let the mourning time pass first, then let them explore the area again. Maybe by then I can have the roses planted & blooming.

hehe, he'll be fertilizing them even in death, eh ;) *morbid humor*
family oriented creatures take a while to heal, and some don't. but the ones that do are always eager to rear and bond with newcomers. from my experience at least. :3 (how all of my pets always reacted at least :P)
hope your cuties keep active despite their pain :)
