The Burgeonist's Cabaret - Electric Cars
Still got that kick, you know? I didn't quite finish this one, but it's more of a setpiece for the lore drop on why The Burgeonist's Cabaret has electric cars and stuff.
__
Wilford Worthsley is one of the most brilliant minds to have ever lived. Having started his early adulthood running an appliance repair shop with his father, Worthsley and Son's workshop was the birthplace of the first electric programmable computer, and by extension the Worthsley Corporation.
His sister, a aspiring businesswoman, Winry Worthsley, handled the business side of the megacorp when she recognized the genius of her brother, and from this relationship sprung fourth many, many world-changing technologies that spearheaded the Electric age overnight. The city and the world at large now supports and lives an electrically assisted lifestyle, from cars to home appliances, personal computers and advanced infrastructure. The Worthsley 'W' emblazoned on every piece of chrome and enamel moving forward.
Oil and Diesel came and went out of fashion faster than it could become a household name, oil companies attempted to push the electric upstart out of competition and paid the price when Worthsley Tech and Money started to runaway with the market. Oil is still being mined, but the demand isn't nearly as insane as it was a few years ago, the drilling companies falling from their titanic ivory towers certainly shook up the old order, and Worthsley was there to conveniently pick up the pieces.
Everything is electric now, cars buzz with arc engines, lights shine bright and even turn themselves on when needed, neon lines the signage of every bilboard.
